The first, also a sailor, nicknamed "Black Dog", wanted something from Billy, they quarreled and it ended in a knife fight. Later, a terrible blind beggar appeared, who gave him a "black mark" - a terrible warning to pirates who violate the unwritten laws of their world. Billy Bones decides to quickly leave his familiar place, but suddenly dies of an apoplectic stroke. Jim and his mother, to whom Billy owed a lot for lodging, find money and a packet of papers in his things, from which it becomes clear that Bones was the first navigator on the ship of the famous pirate Flint and owned a map of the place where the treasures are kept...
