I really enjoyed previous books by Victoria Hislop but this was less exciting.

It was more a travelogue of Greece combined with short stories linked by the main story. It just didn't ever really pull me in despite the fact many elements were interesting.

It has tempted me to visit that part of Greece and hire a car to explore some of the out of the tourist trail places in the book.

It wasn't that the story was boring but I think I was expecting a book more like "The Return " and "The Island". It hasn't put me off reading her other books but if you are expecting books like the two I mentioned then approach it very differently.
