James Matthew Barrie: Peter pan (Palmyra Classics)

A story that is instructive for children and invariably takes adults back to their childhood, "Peter Pan" is a world-famous creation of the Scottish novelist and playwright James Matthew Barrie (1860-1937). The image of a boy who decided never to grow up appeared in the writer's early books - the novel "Tommy and Grisel" (1900) and several chapters of the novel "The White Bird" (1902). But, of course, such a hero needed his own special place - this is how two fairy tales about Peter Pan appeared.
"Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens" is a story about the hero's early childhood. Having escaped from home through a chimney, he settles in a magical park, where he lives among fairies and birds and meets an ordinary girl for the first time.
"Peter Pan and Wendy" is perhaps the most famous part of the boy's adventures. Having flown into the window of a child's room one day, Peter meets his future friends and invites them to leave their home to go to a fairy-tale island, and there... Fierce pirates, treacherous mermaids, friendly Indians, a crocodile ally and one little jealous fairy who almost became a traitor, and then helped save everyone.
